Three words that get used interchangeably and mean different things. Privacy is the client’s interest in controlling what is known about them. Confidentiality is the duty you owe them throughout the relationship. Privilege is narrower than either: a rule of evidence, belonging to the client, that keeps certain communications out of legal proceedings.
Privilege belongs to the client, not to you and not to the agency — so it is the client who can waive it. An item that turns on who may waive is testing exactly this.
Practice questions

A parent tells a social worker that he did not attend the appointment the agency arranged for him. The social worker wants to understand what happened. Which question is the BEST one to ask?
BEST asks which question opens the conversation rather than closes it. “Why” invites a defence, and a yes/no question hands him a one-word exit. Asking what got in the way treats the absence as a problem to solve together — and the rationale goes on to say why each of the others narrows what he can tell you.

The qualifier
FIRST, BEST, NEXT, MOST — 69.2% of questions turn on a single capitalised word, and reading past it is how prepared candidates lose marks. We mark it in every stem and say what that particular word is asking for.
